This one's for the oldies!

The 3 best movies you have seen in your life.

That's as far back as you can remember of course! I was thinking of movies the other day and realised that I had seen some great movies since I was a teenager in the sixties. So, I thought I'd ask the older Joeusers (and younger if you wish), to tell me the 3 movies that were the best . I do remember that Easy Rider was great but not one of my greats. So were Doctor Zhivago and American Graffiti. My very best were (to kick off the list):

Driving Miss Daisy (I have a love affair with old American cars).
On Golden Pond (Moved me greatly for many reasons).
Apocalypse Now ( The horrors of war in surreal Coppola fashion).

I watched The Sound Of Music 6 times but it does not rate in my top 3 (Great then--too much sugar now!).

By the way I have a brother-in -law who watches "Pat Garritt and Billy The KId" at least once a month! He is a massive Dylan fan.

So, Joeusers, give us your all-time top 3.

I can't give you a consistent top 3. My favorites vary from time to time, and I have found as much to like about some newer flicks as older ones.

I think that for artistic value, music, animation, and over-all best in show, nothing can beat "Fanatasia"  by Walt Disney! that's my number 1 choice.

2. For just plain fun,  even though by today's standards it's considered cheesy, I LOVE " Journey to the Center of the Earth" with Pat Boone (father to Debbie Boone) James Mason, shucks,  now I've forgotten the rest of the cast!  it's a classic one tho, if not "A" classic.

3. Lady and the Tramp by Walt Disney~ fell in love with this one decades ago,  and still love it!

My favourite old movies are Singing in the Rain, Roman Holiday, and The Seven Year Itch. Granted, I was not alive when these movies were made, but that does not mean that I won't watch them anywhere, at anytime of the day.

here's a link to the description of the movie:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046000/    it's a sweet movie,  and touching too.

I cant think of three, but first one would be Rebel Without a Cause. I love James Dean, such a tortured and good looking actor...

Second hand lions definitely!  I would put my other 2 new as Star Trek - The Wrath of Khan, and my sinful pick, Halloween!

I love scary movies, but they don't make good ones anymore. All they can do nowadays is bad remakes of classics. Movies today are as a whole worse than older ones. Except for a few, like Garden State (my favourite movie of all time).
