Jury Duty? Not Gonna Happen

Yesterday's mail included a sumons to appear for jury duty. These are generated from driver's license records. I should think they'd realize that someone with a Commercial License is not very likely to even be home to see such a summons for a long time, let alone be around to appear. It's just sheer luck that I happened to be home when it came.

I haven't even opened it yet so don't know when I am supposed to be there. My work requires me to be out of the state most of the time, and dealing with this is going to be a real pain in the ass I'm sure. I'm scheduled to leave back out on the road Monday or Tuesday. I suppose I'll just try to call them on Monday and tell them I can't do it as I'll be out of the state.

Yeah, I know. I just opened it and they included a form to be filled out to be excused. I'll just fill it out and let them know I'll be out of state. That should do.

I wish I'd get picked for jury duty!!

We move so much though...my license is ever changing and I don't think they'll ever catch me.

I think it would be fun to get a juicy trial....well maybe not. Have you seen jurors interviewed after a big case? They look wired and very unhappy.

Well, I have two problems with this. Firstly, my job keeps me out of the state most of the time, and secondly it's in Tampa and as I don't own a car I'd really have no way to get there even if I was home.

Jury duty sucks. You never get to serve at a convenient time. I served on a murder trial and it was very interesting but it was the week before Christmas and I had just recovered from having a broken leg. It totally sucked!

I wouldnt want to be a jury... to decide on the future of somebody... I'd rather someone else did it! I hope you can be excused! Would be too much of a hassle otherwize!
