Object Desktop

Individual Components of Object Desktop

WindowBlinds
IconPackager
WindowFX
SkinStudio
IconDeveloper
ObjectBar
Theme Manager
DesktopX
Stardock Central
IconX
RightClick
Virtual Desktops
Desktop Gadgets
Object Edit
Tab LaunchPad
Object Sweeper
Keyboard LaunchPad
Component Tray

If you mean WindowBlinds, open WB configuration, click per application on the left, click add per application setting, browse to the yahoo .exe and add it to be excluded from skinning.

You are running Window Blinds. You need to add your Messenger to the exclusions. Until you do this, you will find that your messenger will disappear with a "right click". You will also find that when you close it, and the "closed" face is in your Systray, it will disappear when clicked.

If you open Window Blinds configuration.......choose "Per Application". In the "exclusions" list, type YahooMessenger.exe. This will fix the problem.

If you have MSN Premium, you will have problems when you try to switch members as well. This is an exclusion that is needed for MSN Premium to function properly.

To configure WindowBlinds, simply right click the Windowblinds icon and choose "configure WindowBlinds".

Hope this helps you. I'm pretty darned sure it will!

Cheers!

I have used Object Desktop for years and have used yahoo messenger for 5 years.

They are aware of the problem at Stardock ...this started when yahoo made a new(er) version of messenger. Simple remedy is to go to add remove programs ...uninstall messenger. Go to www.freecreed.com ( under yahoo tab > downloads> older messengers )

Install an older ( actually better working version ) of messenger.
Im using 6.0.0.1922

I have had no problems with this version and it is easily skinned by windowblinds.
I have not had to add messenger to the " per application " in the WB config. with this version.

Here is a direct link to the download area......this version is towards the bottom.

Hi Fairryy~

You are spot on about the the recent Yahoo update. That is when I started having problems too.

I only suggested adding Messenger to the exclusions list because it didn't occur to me that the older version might be found on the web.

Either option should work I suppose. It just depends on if you want Yahoo Messenger skinned or not. It doesn't bother me that it isn't skinned by WB so I just excluded it.

It appears I hijacked Sir Bichur's response. Sorry 'bout that. I didn't read the end of your post.
Peace!

I only mentioned excluding due to other posts found stating same.

Fairyy~'s is the 1st I've seen saying older versions work. I don't use it and didn't know.

Sometimes I mention some things don't need total exclusion. Just skinning the title bar will work, sometimes.

Lots dont care is messenger is skinned or not...If I had to go without it skinned , i'd live. This happened awhile back...not just the newest update of messenger...I prefer my older version of messenger - they're newer versions constantly brain fart..

But I did update it months ago to see what was happening when others were complaining about it shutting down when you right clicked on it...sure enough..the minute I touched it ..it shut off. I had saved my older install in another directory for a fast reinstall.

Its nice to have freecreed.com for the other stuff too. Just thought i'd post it for others that may not know you can have any version you want actually.

I agree. That is a pretty cool site. I spent quite a while looking around.
