Need Help bad! Newbie begginner and I cant get it to work. Pros and Gurus welcommed!

Ok. I downloaded the TemperedGlass and AeroXP. Not sure what type of theme they are but I liked them. I wanted to try those and also if soemone can teach me after how to get a boot theme on. Back to the themes....I came to this site, registered and then installed the Stardock (not even sure if I need it do I?) and I installed Theme Manager off it (not sure do I need this?)! I tried putting the .zip files in different places and making folderrs but nothing works. Can you give me a step by step instruction?

If you are using the trial version of WB, the only perpixel "glass" style skins which will be usable with it are the ones that come with the download and are installed by default (Arrow & Aura, I believe) - other downloaded perpixel skins won't display as designed.

That said, if you download a skin to a folder somewhere, it (almost always) is a file with a .wba extension. Once WB is installed and you've rebooted your rig, all you need to do to install the skin is double-click the .wba file & WB takes care of decompressing the files to the correct folder automatically. To actually apply the skin to the GUI, you need to open WB's configuration dialog from the System Tray then select and apply it.

I'd be careful about bootskins - some computers have no problems with them but many do and it can be frustrating to fix things if they go off the rails - unless you have a fair amount of computer knowledge & are comfortable taking your chances with unsupported beta software.

If you are referring to:

Aero-XP by Gef:
Link
From the box at the top of the page labeled "Gallery Description"
DesktopX themes are single files that when applied by DesktopX

DesktopX is the program that need to be installed for that theme. That and your resolution needs to be 1280x1024.

Tempered Glass by Diafragma:

From the Gallery Description:
ObjectDock is a program

You will need Object Dock installed to use that background.

Each Gallery Description included a link to any needed software. Or you could click the software tab above.
