Resize pictures : ??

I want to post some pictures of my trip to Vila but I cant find a way to compress them. I have tried resizing them, but even so the hosting (village photos) site says they are too large to be uploaded.

Can someone help me with this? Pretty Please?

Thanks :)

First, lets make sure were talking about the same size here. I suspect village photos doesn't care about the resolution (size of picture), but they care about the disk space (size in bytes of data that makes up the picture). If that's the case, there are basically two ways to make the picture smaller. You can decrease the resolution (size of picture), which will lead to a decrease in disk space used. Or you can decrease the quality of the picture (increase compression), which will also decrease disk space used, while keeping the same resolution (size of picture).
Exactly how you do either will depend upon the program your using to fiddle with your pictures. Resolution changes can usually be found as resize or some similiar, possible under the edit menu button. Compression is often dealt with when you save. When choosing the format used (most likely .jpg) there will be an option somewhere (or perhaps an option menu) for choosing the quality/compression of the newly saved picture. Save as... from the file menu button might have what you want.
In either case, making a backup copy of the files before you fiddle with them might be a good idea. Then if you don't like the changes you can always go back to an unaltered original copy and try again. Hope you can get the resizing you want.

Thanks Danny, it's actually the disk space I suppose because or else i havent reduced enough resolution, it's a pain. I'm going to try and check the re-saving system you've advised. If it doesnt work then

Joe!! Heehee! I'll try my best to upload them here, dont worry it should work, somehow, thanks for that link i'm gonna check it out.

Thanks Lucas, I'll try that one too if everything else fails

Have you tried Photoshop?  Or the latest iteration Microsoft Office Picture Manager.  Both let you resize and crop pictures.
