Transparency... and how to get it to work.

I am fairly new to WB and skinstudio and have been reading some articles on transparency. The only thing is I don't know how to do it, and all the fourm articles I have read (i have searched and searched), I don't understand. I have come to the conclusion that is my version of skinstudio (see below). I currently have: SkinStudio v4.6.0, Build 1071 WindowBlinds 5.00 [11/29/05] Can anyone help me please? Thanks, Hengy I like pie. :d

Thank you Sir Bichur, but what i meant(and should have stated) was that i was looking to do semi transparency, not total transparency for borders and things.

Sorry for not making it totally clear.

Hey Hengy, you need SkinStudio 5 to do this. Transparency is the image, not a skinstudio setting.

As Cavan said, transparency has to do with the images themselves, not SkinStudio per se. SKS just assigns the images you designate to graphic elements and allows you to enable the various attributes for those images for them to display as desired, including transparency & translucency.

I was in the same boat not long ago - you just need to get an image editing program that will allow you to create/modify images utilizing transparency (.tga & .png preferred). Paint.NET is an excellent free program worth checking out. Most "pros" use either PhotoShop or Paint Shop Pro but they can be a little pricey depending on where you get them. Another free program often mentioned is GIMP, but it was very cumbersome to install & get running when I last checked it out - that's been awhile, though, & it may have been simplified since.
