Thanks to everyone who bothered leaving comments on the first one. Like I said before, I will post the pics of my dining room wall treatment when I can get the proper lighting...right now I can't really get the detail in the shot I want.

Ok, here is the Dining Room wall treatment done with tissue paper and glaze...it gives the room a very old world feel.  Once I am done sewing the curtains I will give better pics of entire room. Don't mind the space ship in the first shot...outside the window.;)

What style do they call it?  INteresting to say the least.  I dont think the pictures do it justice.

What style do they call it?

It really isn't a style as much as a technique.  It makes the room look old world....so I picked sheer fabric to mimic the texture, and will probably going with gold curtains...

I dont think the pictures do it justice

HAHAHAHA.  Nice way of saying its ugly?

Yeah, that's why I waited to post them...no matter the lighting, dark outside or daylight, chandelier on or off, the photos just don't look like the real thing.  It's not as dark in real life....but I think once I have the curtains up and there is something substantial against the wall...the effect may come across on photo...then again maybe not.

No, it is not ugly.  It is different and I have not seen it before.  I was curious.  I am male.  It is Blue.  I was trying to see if I could engage in a discussion from the female perspective.  I guess no one will mistake me for a female!  I still say white is white!  And I dont see the difference between eggshell, and lily! I did find it interesting.  Guys dont look at something (with few exceptions) and say "UGLY".  We know we are in trouble when we look at it and go "HUH?" so the stupid ones go "HUH?" and the rest of us ask for explanations so we can talk intelligently about eggshell white and off white!

Oh!  I see.

Well it is blue, but not as dark as it is showing in the photos....the glaze is a pearl color with gold.  I painted the glaze on, then blotted it with cheese cloth.

This room with candle light is amazing.  There is something that happens to the picture when I use my flash, seems to darken the walls.

Anyway, if I were doing it all over again, I'd probably just do it above or below a chair rail, or do one primary wall.  I could still do that....all I need is a bottle of water and a plastic scrapper to get the stuff off.....but I hate to do it since it took hours and hours to get this effect.

When I get whole room photos, maybe it will show better....we'll see.

I am a neophyte, so it is an education!

That's a darling picture of you and your littlest boy...and also I couldn't help noticing that beautiful tapestry adorning the wall behind you. What impeccable taste you have, down to every detail of the way you care for yourself, your gorgeous boy, and your home.

Blowing a kiss of admiration....

Muaaaah!

So I have a suggestion for you on the photo. Try it without a flash and on a tripod. Use the natural room light and adjust your camera so the exposure is longer. (Yes I know this isn't always easy with digital cameras) Your camera should have some sort of adjustment.

Flashes on cameras are hard to master and if it is the little one that is built in, well, there just aren't many that you can set to auto and always expect it to work out right.

Yeah it does...I will have to read the instruction manual though....hahahaha.  I'm not really liking that idea!  But I will have to do something because the walls aren't turning out well in photos.

Thanks.

That's ok, if it looked like it does in the photos in REAL life, I'd be tearing it down.....
