Yes it is that time of the year. The day that I was brought into this world 27 years ago and shortly upon my arrival I was spanked! This should have been a warning to the many more I received as a child. 
Birthdays are days that many people make a rather large deal about. Some will throw a large party others will go out and paint the town. I know some that try to ignore it. But this year I want to do something a little different. I want to thank my mom for bringing me into this world.
I'm thankful that she didn't drink nor do a drug.
Who taught me right and kept me away from being a thug.
Didn't see me as an inconvenience but as a blessing sent from above.
And held me on that day with great love.
Although I am not her little boy of days gone by.
I am still the apple of her eye.
Although I am not playing in front of a crowd.
I know that of this son she is quite proud.
Thanks mom I couldn't have done it with out ya.
