Mason, I know you love you bike, and I have not squealed and told her about your thoughts of cheating!  Seriously!

But should you ever find yourself in my neighborhood, let me drive you.  This is becoming a regular story in the press around here and it sickens me.  Motorists just dont give a damn.

I have seen a lot of cyclists downtown.  I gather the drivers are better down there (some are the couriers).  But this is like the 4th in the past 2 months outside of downtown. I am afraid to ride my own bike even though I will not go on main roads.  Drivers are just too stupid!

So Mason, if you come to Richmond, I will take a day off and show you the best part of the city.  Just leave your bike at home.  It is not a Bike friendly city.

I hated hearing "we'll I didn't see him" from motorists after they hit a person on a motorcycle. My standard answer to that was a cold look in their faces followed by, "well, I guess you don't see kids while you drive either".

It's plain and simple, anyone who "can't see motorcycles" on the streets have no right or business driving. If anyone is reading this that can't seem to share a road with motorcyclists are the problem, YOU ARE A MENACE TO SOCIETY!!

Thanks for giving me that opportunity to vent Dr. Guy. ;~D

Thanks for giving me that opportunity to vent Dr. Guy.

Vent away!

As I said, this is the 4th incidence in the past 2 months.  I know Mason has had some run ins, but at least he has lived to talk about them.  These people have not.  So keep your bike, and ride around the neighborhood.  Just dont take it out to the major roads. I'll drive.

Thanks Guy. I may take you up on that.

It's always sad to hear these stories. What's even worse is the drivers who hit and often kill bicyclists usually get off with a slap on the wrist. That's the part that truly angers me.

Will you drive me too? Pretty please?

Just a note i wanted to add, we had an accident with a motocyclist at night. We were at a crossroad and we were going on the main road when we hit him. He had no lights on, so we seriously didnt see him. Luckily the kid (must be 17) wasnt injured, only a scratch! But yeah, when I knew he was alright I wanted to kick his ass!!! *sigh*

IN our - feeble - defense, they will not get off with a slap.  But it does disturb me that there have been so many.  The offer is open to one and all, as there are too many idiots where I live (but a lot of great people too - guess that is God's balance).

Anywhere anytime!

And the kid?  He was lucky you hit him.  He was being stupid.  And he could be dead now!

Well I don't live on an AF base...but I sure am close to one, if you are ever headed this way.

Coffee would be cool and you could show me your truck.

God gave the young rubber bodies and open minds.  IN this case, he needs both.

He may get to meet most of us before he retires.

Neither the base or Dharma are going to be moving soon, so hopefully you will have another opportunity.

I am glad this is a family type of article, otherwise that would sound ummm - suggestive?

Yeah, sometimes the timing really stinks. Especially since it turned out that load cancelled just about the time I got there.

When on I43 I am normally enroute someplace and trying to keep up on my schedule. It so happens that after I drop part of this current load in Savanna, IL tomorrow morning the balance of it doesn't deliver in Milwaukee until Monday morning. I'm probably going to park at the Flying J on I39 at the IL/WI line tomorrow and stay until early Monday morning.

Given your runs, I am just making holes in a map.  Until you get a north-south run on the east coast, I dont expect you to run through.  But IF you do, take 295!  It is 1.2 miles longer, but a lot quicker!  I-95 through here is a bitch!  Probably most of the way north as well!

Yeah I used to run through there all the time. I'm very familiar with the cluster that is I 95
