How to delete a race?

Is there a file I can edit that will let me delete the Akilians? I don't want to turn off the minor races .... except for them. They continually spam my space with influence bases, continually complain about my military build up, continually make a pain in the ass of themselves. No other minor race does this and I'm constantly at war with them because that's the only way to remove their stupid bases.

To remove them, just comment out their race entry in "Data\English\RaceConfig.xml". Although I personally think if you hate them that much it would be extra incentive for you to leave them in and invade their homeworld... it's a nice planet.

look in my documents & i believe & you can delete saves, custom ships, & races

Are you sure this won't cause a CTD if the game picks them to be in?

Thanks. I'll try it. If it does cause a crash, I'll post back. Of course, it crashes so often, I may not notice a difference.
