Ultrasound Results

I had the big ultrsound this morning.  Everything looks perfectly normal.  When the technician focused on the nether regions, guess what...there was something missing!  It's a girl!

It was a very clear picture.  So clear that they can see the chambers and vessels of the heart.  The technician pointed everything out clearly and even did a video tape for us.

I am in shock.  Ryan stated this morning that it would be a girl.  Alex still figured it would be a boy so I get to surprise him when I pick him up from school.

We aren't going to paint the room pink or anything but it is quite certain we will be welcoming Ashley Grace Wardell this August.  I just can't believe it!  It will be the first girl in Brad's family as far back as they can trace.

Awesome Jill!!! I am so happy for you guys. Girls are a lot of fun (and I am already finding out how different from boys they are!). I am so glad that everything looks good and you have a healthy little bundle of joy in there! Congrats again, so glad everything looks fine.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to change the colors of the baby blanket slightly to make them a little more feminine, and man, do I ever have a ton of patterns for little girls clothes and hats!

I'm so excited I'm almost crying!

Awesome!  Congratulations!

When you said about all the boys in Brad's family, I thought of telling you about my Aunt (4 boys, 5 Grandsons, and then the youngest boy had his first - a girl!), but figured wait and see.  Seems truth is stranger than fiction!

That is going to be one spoiled little girl!  2 Big Brothers, a doting dad, and a passle of Wardells that are going to love her andprotect her.

I'm jealous. Me - three boys. How fun! You can buy little pink rosebud outfits and dolls and paint her nails and put ribbons in her hair.

Congratulations!

Thanks all. I am excited, anxious, happy, scared, but most of all relieved that she looks like she has all the right stuff in all the right places and is developing normally. I will probably be dangerous with buying her outfits. I so look forward to doing her hair and seeing what a Wardell girl will look like.

She will most certainly be doted on. We will have to do our best to try not to spoil her rotten. I don't think I will truly believe it until I see her.

It will certainly be an adventure!

I used the Futuraumoter that L Ron left me and took a picture of her in 20 years.  Here ya go:

Wow! We'll have to lock her up if she looks like that!

Congratulations to your family. What a relief it must be to see everything progressing nicely. Isn't it cool how they can show you everything now with the ultrasounds.

What a beautiful name you have picked.

Why thank you Kelly! We both loved that name when we were expecting our first and still love it now so felt like it must be right. All of the granparents are thrilled!

Beautiful name, congratulations! We have two boys, then our girl, and then another boy. So yeah, our little girl is in charge. She has me wrapped around her little finger.

Considering that I didn't like the boy name that you picked, I'm glad it's a girl!  You need to do all the pink frilly stuff before she has a chance to object.  Once they get a bit older, they don't let you pick out their clothes and it becomes a lot less "fun".  Hopefully she doesn't look too much like Brad....just think of Brad as a girl...not that good....except for maybe his legs...

I am really hoping she gets Brad's legs and Brad's metabolism. I just hope she gets her mental stability from me I actually think either of our boys would have made pretty girls so I think she will be fine. Of course I'm her mommy so she will be beautiful to me no matter what. I can't believe I get to say 'she' and 'her'!

That's exactly what happened to our friends from our old neighborhood. Their girl is turning into a tomboy from what I hear.

I guess we'll see how Ashley treats us to decide whether 3 is enough or not.

hehehe. Impossible, I'll bet.

Congrats to you and your family! Having a girl is definitely fun.

You're probably right I'm afraid. I bet Brad has no clue how wrapped around her finger he is going to be. I see the look in his eyes even when my niece wants a hug from him. He's going to be putty with his own little girl.

Jill, CONGRATULATIONS! What exciting news! I'm so happy for your family! What a big change...having a girl in the house besides mom!

I'd love to send you something girly and Hawaiian (I'm thinking maybe a soft hula doll...although if I had tons of money, I'd get you a Hawaiian baby quilt...those are so great!). If you don't mind, let me know. I think I have Stardock's mailing address in an email somewhere.

Again...Congratulations! Wow!

With three boys, and then (finally) a little girl, it's definitely an adventure. Once we were certain that our Michaela was a girl ... let's just say that my daughter did not have to rewear an outfit from the day she came home from the hospital until she was about 9 months old. (She was still wearing 3 - 6 month clothes, so that says something ... )

My wife has fun dressing her up and doing her hair nicely and everything. Fortunately, she likes wearing the long, flowing skirts and sweaters. Everything is PINK! She'll wear pink 4 days in a row, and then wear purple/lavendar for a change before going back to pink.

One of her favorite activities is to climb up on my lap while we're watching TV and hand me her hairbrush. For some reason, she doesn't like Mommy brushing her hair, but she'll let Daddy brush it for hours. Hmm... maybe this should've gone as part of the next quote's response ...

I bet Brad has no clue how wrapped around her finger he is going to be. ... He's going to be putty with his own little girl.

I thought that I'd be able to deal with it. But, all she's got to do is flash those baby blue eyes at me and I melt. It doesn't help that she's got all 3 brothers, both grandfathers, and the uncle that she deals with regularly, all wrapped around her finger.

Man, someone needs perform an intervention on her future boyfriends ... save them some trouble.

I'm pretty sure that's how Brad will be too.

You are so sweet! That would be very special. You can certainly send stuff to Stardock. Karen sent me a beautiful poncho she knit! I swiped the Christmas card you sent to the office because I love the picture of your boys.

To all who have said "Wow!", that pretty much sums it up

Congratulations!

Woo Hoo! Plus, it's so much fun to shop for little girl clothes! Boys clothes just aren't the same.

Here's hoping that she has lots of hair to play with too!
