Prince desires a voluptuous woman in the steamy "U Got The Look."
In the intro, he whispers he's about to describe a moment people wish they could all have. He adds that it's going to be a duet. Then, he asks people if they have sex appeal.
"Here we are folks, the dream we all dream of/ Boy versus girl in the World Series of love/ Tell me, have U got the look?" /blockquote>
Raunchy guitars then begin, setting a carnal tone. In the first verse, Prince is sitting at the bar, waiting for the bartender to make his drink. He sees Sheena Eaton sashay into the bar and he has a sudden burst of energy. Her stern expression and curvaceous body immediately attracts him. She's wearing a tight peach and black dress which reveals the outline of her body. He can't believe a woman as sexy as her exists and is in the same room as he is. He decides he wants to sleep with her."U walked in, I woke up /I've never seen a pretty girl look so tough /Baby, U got that look /Color U peach and black /Color me takin' aback /Crucial, I think I wantcha."
In the chorus, Easton sings. Speaking in his fantasy, she tells him that he's handsome and there's something about him that separates him from the other guys in the room. She compliments him on his face and body. She then says they should have sex right away."U've got the look, U've got the hook /Sho'nuff do be cookin' in my book/Your face is jammin', your body's heck-a-slammin' /If love is good, let's get 2 rammin' /U got the look, U got the look."
In the second verse, he says she takes a lot of time in her appearance. However, he ends up putting his foot in his mouth.
"Looka here /U got the look (U got the look) /U must'a took (U must'a took)/A whole hour just 2 make up your face, baby."
He continues in the verse (with a high-pitched voice), saying the harsh lights in the bar notice every wrinkle and flaw. He saves himself by telling her that she still looks amazing under the lighting and heavy smoke. He apologizes for saying how long it must take her to get ready. He adds that he's embarrassed."Closin' time, ugly lights, everybody's inspected (Everybody's inspected) /But U are a natural beauty unaffected (Unaffected) /Did I say an hour? My face is red, I stand corrected (I stand corrected)."
The chorus is sung again.
In the bridge, Prince says after meeting, they hooked up. As he repeats the intro, Easton rolls her eyes and tells him to stop crowing about it already."There's no jokin' /ell here we are/Ladies and gentlemen, the dream we all dream of (Oh please!) /Boy versus girl in the World Series of love /Slammin'!"
The first verse is sung again. However, Easton repeats each lyric after Prince."U walked in (I walked in), I woke up (U woke up) /I never seen such a pretty girl look so tough /Baby (Baby), U got that look (U got that look)/Yes U do (Yes U do)/Color U peach and black…crucial, I think I wantcha."
The chorus is sung again.
Over a piercing electric guitar, Prince repeats the a part of the intro. Easton repeats "u got the look" five times."Here we are folks, the dream we all dream of/U got the look/U got the look/U got the look/U got the look/U got the look."
In the single, Prince lands the sexy girl in the bar. It starts as an illusion. Then, he makes a beeline for her. He bungles his words, accidentally offending her. However, he rephrases it and makes an even better compliment. She accepts it and takes him home with her. Eventually, they become a couple and he loves to brag to people about how he landed her. It irritates her, but he still does it anyway.
Princes' vocals are hyper and energetic. The high-pitched voice never grates. It weaves itself naturally into the synth arrangement.
Eastons' voice is vibrant and racy. She sounds exactly as Prince describes her: brazen, sexual, and rough. Her best songs include Prince. He is able to give her a compelling personality.
The synth and guitar arrangement is tireless and virile. The notes jump around, demanding attention.
"U Got The Look" is an 80s classic.
