Disabling Startup Programs

Argh!
Sad but true-- I can't remember where to access the startup program list & disable the unneeded ones.

Start > Run > type: msconfig > Startup tab.

If they are services your better off typing in the run box "services.msc" and disabling them there, turning them off through msconfig is practically useless..

Or . . subscribe to the Stardock ThinkDesk suite https://www.stardock.com/products/thinkdesk/ and use the SecureProcess Startup manager.*

[*Blatant plug for the suite. More subsribers = more dev time = better products released sooner.]

You can use CCleaner also.

Haven't tried the one with CCleaner. The 'delete entry' throws me. Does it just stop it from running on startup if you 'delete'?

Been using Ace Utilities for that since I got it a couple of years ago.

It deletes the startup entry only. Just tested on DX fishy, after delete in CCleaner open properties for fishy, run at startup was now unchecked but fishy still working fine.

I use the one in Ccleaner quite often and it works great..and you dont have to reboot after you make the changes like msconfig make ya...
