ObjectDock 3 Release Feedback Thread

With the ObjectDock 3 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the product

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager 

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making ObjectDock 3 a better product.

Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Overall I am pretty impressed with ObjectDock 3. I really like the tabbed dock and think this is a great direction to go in. I do have some feedback.

Bug 

* ObjectDock 3 was not detected on my object desktop manager. I had to go into my download on the store page to download it.

feature requests

* shortcut key(s) to hide / unhide docks via the keyboard

* I am curious if it can be possible to create folder portals within the tabbed docks in a future update. For example can the documents tab lead to the contents of the systems document folder?

Overall good work! This product should have a good reception.

I did test that it does show:

If you completely exit ODM, re-open, does it then show?  If not, and with ODM having focus, does an F5 (refresh) resolve it?

I have some great old docks in Stardock.dockzip format. Will I be able to use them at some point? Can't open them with Winrar, so I assume they are not regular zip-files.

I need to know how to load my OD Themes, because I have quite a few of them and I cannot find a setting where I can change any of them.

Not working on custom docklets and my show/hide is no longer working. 


In all previous versions, you can just dump the docklets to the docklets folder inside the installation ObjectDock folder then restart Object dock and add the custom docklet from the list.  But none are showing.  That includes the weather that was already installed with it.
I have a Show/Hide.exe file I use to show/hide desktop icons just by double-clicking.  It works in an older version of Object dock but this one it won't until I close it.   Unsure what else could be wrong.  I uninstalled v3 and went back to my older version until this one is fixed.

It's the latest version v3.0 that's causing it.  I went back to the older version. You can see from this photo it works.  So it's not Windows however this one did ask for permission on order for me to copy the files to the objectdock folder.

I have no doubt that it work on the older version, but, it might not work in the current version. I don't know specifically the reason, that is why I forward your issue to Support for their respond.

Do know that ObjectDock have gone through some adjustment so that it is compatible on all Windows 10 and Windows 11 system. So, if the older version work on your system. Does not mean it work for everyone else. Again, I don't know what specifically, but I believe you get the idea.

If it not appear there, please raise support ticket using the link below, use the product not receive option. Include all information details. Remember to record down the ticket number for future reference if needed. Do not raise multiple ticket, that will make your ticket back to the end of the line. Send once and wait. Can someone please answer my previous question? I asked how do you change themes, NOT backgrounds, but actual OD Themes. I have over 30 Themes (Docks) that I created and can no longer access. That has me extremely disappointed. ObjectDock Plus used to have an option for Themes--Load Theme--Save Theme but that is no longer there. I'm thinking of switching back to ObjectDock Plus v1.90, I'm that p*ssed off about this. My OS is Microsoft Windows 10 Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4170).

Blur behind docks does not seem to be implemented or working. Is it being rewritten to work on 10/11 or will it just never come back?
