Hi All,
Thus far I'm really enjoying SCO. It's obviously a good game with a good story.
Little things I've noticed which seem to be low hanging fruit for improved gameplay:
- When engaging autopilot from the captain's log (awesome basic concept btw) you just start flying with no indication of how far you are flying or anything. It's a little distressing, because you just don't know how much fuel you will be using. Couldn't you first be shown the route being plotted on the sector map?
- The value of simpler resources. Corrosives, base metals and noble gases all have the same value. This makes it a bit... boring. I would suggest 3 for corrosives, 5 for base metals and 8 for noble gases. Even 4,5,6 would be better tbh. Something approaching fibonacci is ideal however imho.
- The colour of base metals on the hud while exploring. Low contrast is never the answer.
- It would be really good if you could get the same information you get from the station trading board while hovering over installed tech both in station and in the fleet overview.
- Autopilot disengages too easily. Which then sometimes requires you to search again and engage autopilot again. It'd be great if you could quickly re-plot the last route with a simple shortcut at the very least. Maybe even a recent search list.
For the rest... The game is thoroughly enjoyable. I'm very happy to be playing a quality SC game again
