We had the nature of the multi-verse explained to us. Ok, I'm trying to remember the words used, but all I really remember is the punchline / reference to SC2. It went something like this:
Other dimensions exist alongside of ours. They look very much like ours, but at a higher or lower resolution.
So: if we change our resolution, we should get new content! And by new content, I really just mean an extra dialog tree stuck somewhere in the game.
For example, the first time we meet a Tywom, the colors are reversed. We can exclaim how we're worried we're in a negative universe. And 3 pages of fan-fiction dialog later the Tywom finally winds down on his Star Trek fan fiction involving mirror universes...and discovers the settings on the video are messed up.
And then maybe we play the game a third time with yet another screen resolution and we get into an argument with the Mu'kay about if there are delicious fish in other dimensions and if research should be conducted to gain access to those fish.
Ooh! If Stardock wanted to be really silly, give us an option to set the resolution all the way down to 640:480. And if we do that, SC:Oshuts down and SC:2 loads!
