NEW MAPS FOR REBELLION - SOON!

Hi there everyone, me and a friend of mine have been hard at work to create some new maps for sins rebellion. The first release is going to be based around the Star Trek universe, don't worry its not designed to be accurate, just a massive map to play. Bit like a campaign really.

check out http://inphase.zzl.org have a look on the information page, and you can see some screens of the map in progress.Hopefully it will be released soon, along with 2 others in progress. Keep checking back for updates.

The website is a work in progress but I thought you may want to see some screens.

dear lord have mercy that is a massive map.  I tried to do a "Freelancer" universe map for 7 Deadly Sins (lots of Rogue Stars for 'solar systems') and it was just freaking huge, but not as big as your map.  I tried to cut out sectors for smaller maps, but GF3 kept having hissy fits and dumping.

I might just as well throw my laptop out of the window when I start that up I think...

Wow.  That map...

 

I've done a map like that for my lore in Distant Stars Mod... but I had to break out sections of it to actually play it.  You will need to do the same, I'm sure.

  thanks for your comments, I know its big but we wanted to make a map that could be played like a campaign. I'm not sure how it would run on a laptop, my friend ,that is also making the map, only has a dual core with hd4850 and 4gb ram and he can run it, so maybe.

If there is enough interest in the map, it may be possible to do individual sector maps, so lower systems can also play.

We are so close to finishing, we only have a few more sectors to complete then it will be ready for testing, if you would like to test the map out please leave an email address and I will send it to you once all the sectors are complete.

We are also working on other maps for Rebellion, it would be quicker but we can convert them from old galaxy forge to new one, so we are making them again manually. Along with a map I am currently designing myself.

I will be hard a work today to try and get the website up and running. thanks again for the interest!

nickboot, I am working on  my map updater to rebellion freindly, but some of the maps do not update properly, BUT most (over 80%) do, another issue with the latest is to do with the location of the galaxy files to be converted ie the now current documents\mygames\...\galaxyforge folder and having issues reliably locating the folder in the program.

I have heard a few people are trying to convert, I haven't had much luck, so just going to do it manually. I think Stardock should make an official converter for everyone.

they did not even attempt to do one back with the entrenchment beta which is when I started writing my map updater and released it just after the entrenchment release and back then there ALSO was the issue of the galaxy files from the vanilla game being on the program files galaxy folder, then being moved to the galaxyforge folder next to the mods folders, BUT that is ancient history,

part of the current issues are that some of the map functions that work in version 3 do NOT work in version 4 and give errors AND sometimes minidumps during the map loading, and these SAME features were in mapversion 0,1,2 & 3 and work (and did work in the released rebellion that could read mapversion 3 maps without ANY ERRORS, BUT starclad BROKE the map reading function of rebellion (the part that could read mapversion 3) BUT did NOT block the mapversion 3 reading so we get minidumps when we try to read mapversion 3.

For the moment I am just gonna redo the maps in the new galaxy forge, unfortunatley im not techinal enough to figure it out,

On another note, I will be adding a forum to http://inphase.zzl.org very soon, well as soon as I can upload the files, so people can comment.

I am also hard at work on my own map, called Unknown Worlds. I have prepared a blurb just in case anyone is interested.

'A new star system has been discovered in the solar empire. Because of the major war efforts everyone is in need of immense resources, and thus all go in search to claim and conquer!'

Unfortunatley no screens yet, i am currently working with pen and paper, lol!

A forum is now operational, its not perfect but it does work so feel free to comment or whatever you like.

If you would like to post requests to test the massive map, please post and i'll see what I can do

Nice work here.

I'm actually working on a campaign map more like what DS did.  There is an out of game map played in sections within the game.
