I think they're trying to get more than one account per dwelling. They're 'lumping' rather than 'splitting' and making $ doing so.

And I thought about subscribing at one time. No thanks. There's still the library at $1.50 for three days on certain DVD's and others you get a whole week for the same price. Or I could just buy them when they hit the stores. That's a one time fee for a lifetime. lol


Until DVD formats and readers change... Don't forget planned obsolescence, Uvah. The idea is to make you buy the same thing several times.

Oh I haven't forgotten that Doc because without it a lot of big wigs would lose a lot of money.

Don't forget, if your service gets capped, you'll pay for it from both ends.

Well my cost will go up $4. Considering I have the unlimited account I can and do (have kids) watch 100 different movies a month so the price is only 4 pennies a month for me.

The studios are hitting Netflix with higher prices (as mentioned above)  Obviously Netflix has to make that up somewhere.  You still get the opportunity to watch an incredible amount of movies per month for less than two trips to a theater.  What is there to complain about?  I turn around a disc every three days.  I get it on Monday, mail it back on Tuesday and have a new one by Thursday.  And streaming?  Please, that's the greatest thing ever.  Sure, I liked having both for $10.69 (all told with tax), but I'm not going to bitch about 5 more dollars.  Not for what I'm getting from them.  Cut out one of your uber-large frapamochachinolattes and quit whining.

Cable going up, internet service going up, movies going up. It's getting to a point where a guy can't afford to sit on his ass anymore.

I wonder where libraries will get their books and dvd's when everything is digitally distributed?... Will they let you checkout to your Kindle? I doubt it.

I'll be dropping my account down to streaming only (3 DVDs + Streaming now) on September 1st. The DVD part has really already run it's course. I feel like we stole the current set sitting on the entertainment center (i.e. table with the TV on it).

They'll get less money from me, but I wonder if it will be a net gain for them in the end without the DVD distribution.

The change is suppose to take effect in September.

I'm sure there is a great story there somewhere...who get's banned from a library?
