Razer Adds Another Cool Gaming Mouse–For “On the Go” Gamers

Razer has added yet another gaming mouse to its catalog of devices for gamers with the Razer Orochi Black Chrome Edition.

“The mouse's laser sensor can track up to 100 inches per second, and boasts several features including on-board memory, on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment, and a symmetrical design for both left- and right-handed gamers. The Orochi is also small for on-the-go mobile gaming, measuring approximately 1.4 by 2.7 by 3.9 inches (HWD).”

 

The mouse can be used in either wireless or wired mode.

“The wireless mode (two AA batteries required) features up to 2000 dpi sensitivity and connects via Bluetooth 2.0 for freedom from your gaming rig. Razer recommends that users choosing to go wireless use "high performance batteries" to increase battery life. For those who don't mind being tethered to their computers, the wired mode uses a detachable, three-foot micro-USB cable and goes up to 4000 dpi sensitivity.”

Support:  Windows and Mac computers. Supports Windows 7, Vista,  XP, and Mac OSX (Tiger and above).

Customizable buttons can be found on both sides of the mouse.

I had a mouse like this before - it sucks!

It's better to buy a mouse for right OR left handed gamers but a mouse for both isn't that good. It's my experience.

Now i bought this one a few weeks ago - a helluva mouse

 

...and "wireless & gaming" - not good!

But it's great to have the choice of wired and wireless - nice feature!

I believe the choice exists because of different environments. Although the original article didn't site specifics, I found myself thinking "airplane" - but I could be wrong.

btw... that's one gorgeous mouse you've got!  

Mine's an old Logitech. Love it!

Also... there are some great deals on mice and other MS gear on Buy.com folks might wish to take a look at.

Yep...I'm damn good....but I'm not ambidextrous.....

The great Cosmic Muffin gave me a left hand and a right hand....neither is a 'whatever' hand.

I still go with

Just move the thumb and click. Saves on wrist strain. Never understood why more people don't use these.

LOL Ryat, that is my mouse, is only thing other than a Game pad ive ever used for gaming. nothing better than smooth scrolling action of a track ball when driving stuff like tanks Mechs etc, while other players have to "move , lift, set down,move,...... playing Battlefield 2142 folks would hate me in a mech or hover tank cause I could just walk or hover in a circle continuously around them and never lost them from my cross hairs.. LOL got kicked by some calling me a hack.. fool's.

I so miss the wired version of that trackball.  They discontinued it.

 

I hope my last one doesn't break.  If I had known it was going to be discontinued last year I would have bought 8 of them.

Maybe you should try writing to Logitech. I can't believe there are none left... maybe there are a few somewhere... I looked for your wired version but didn't find any...

I also use the logitech trackman wheel, and do have a couple of spares along with the 5 in use, and can still buy them, but at au$70 each.

I think that's half the trouble with most mice....they're too small.

My MS Explorer 2.0 'fits' ....and I don't have big hands....

I can't say enough about how well built a Razer mouse is. They are one of the best I've ever had my hand wrapped around.

My son bought me a Lachesis 3 years ago and it's still as precise as 1st day I hooked it up. It's nice to be able to set the dpi up high when you really need it.

I used to swear by logitech mice but the last two I bought lasted less than a year. With as sweet as this ones been, I doubt I will ever buy a brand other than a Razer.

I've had my fair share of gaming mouses thru out the years. Most can't stand my extreme gaming though. LOL.

My first gaming mouse was the Logitech VX Nano, yea, I know. Strange but I had a gaming laptop at the time and wanted something small. This worked like a charm believe it or not. Interesting to see how similar it is to this Razer Orochi Black Chrome Edition.

 

Then I got the Razer Deathadder, the best gaming mouse I have ever tried. It felt smooth, comfortable and fast. But, it couldnt stand my gaming style either so it eventually broke within a year.

Now I have the CM Storm Inferno. Not a bad mouse for gaming. My only beef is that when I shut down the PC and restart it the mouse is not always detected. Well, for some strange reason the right button works but the mouse wont move. I'm forced to disconnect it and reconnect and then works just fine. I miss my Razer mouse though. I actually wanted the Mamba but too expensive.

I use to like trackballs years ago but have not gotten one in a while. i think I'm just afraid of getting use to one and not always having one handy will become annoying to me.
