Since the problems of "shareholder value" get mentioned often in some threads, I want to mention that more and more public companies are moving away from shareholder value. For example, take a look at how Google IPO was done:

Not that Stardock would be very easy to IPO, thanks to for one thing the quiet period. GoDaddy tried to IPO once which had to in the end be pulled. Stardock don't have to IPO if they don't want to, but I still want to mention this.
