Agreed.  From the sounds of it, modding is going to have to been a team effort with very few (good) mods being done alone. 

As for the OP... i did some drawgin and this is what i got:

still got a long way to go but the idea is there.  basicly a medevil style armour with from head.  similar to the picture on the other page.  larger hammer for a weapon and chain mail for under armour. 

i'll keep scketching and trying my hand at 3Ds, soon as i have anythign else i'll post it up

I would like to see this but still have the ability to move, say give it a range of movement like a base of 20 meters and that increases with the level of the skill. We could use a somewhat stealth demigod in this game.

ok, after 5 hours on 3Ds Max i finaly have some workable material.  sure its rough... and needs a lot of fine tuning and texture and a skelton but for now u can see what i got.  without further ado:

yes this will be exported into gr2 format as soon as i get around to it.  for now i'm going to learn  how to texture and help out with that. as for the UV you're more then welcome to use the .max file i have there and do it, i unfotunately don't know how (don't tell anyone but this is actually my first huminoid 3D model ... shhh... ).  if i figure it out i'll throw one up, but ur best bet for time is to just DIY it.

if anyone else wants to take a crack this feel free (these are just my ideas... the actual model and concept will be a community effort ).  i call copyrights on the models but if u want to design textures for it or even add somethig to the model i have there feel free.b  i'll be scouring Lynda.com for a while now and try figure this texture stuff

my suggestion for skin texturing:

a yellow-black style looks very good, maybe frogboy would look more interesting with it than with a green style !

for the normal map you should really consider Z-Brush

that can be done... if u have any pics or references that'd be awesome (lot easier to design).  i'll do some sketching and try build a nice looking hammer.  i'm thinking of designing something bigger say where the hammer head is as large or slightly smaller then the whole body.

but i'm open to suggestions

I would think it would be easier from a design perspective to base it off of a proven model (granted 2d) or a bipedal frog.

i'm stil trying to find time to learn UV wrapping and animation, so as soon as i get some praise worthy results i'll post what i got. (one of my attempts turned into a colour polerized version of the Joker, funny, but not very good).  If we (or Frogboy) can decide on a colour scheme then i think this will go a lot smoother.  i'm currently voting for either the black and yellow or this:
