That way demigod would get some dynamic in its demigod cast. Add 4-6 more and you would finally get a great meta game.
The optimal strategy of stacking HP isn't going to be changed by adding more demigods methinks.
A rethink and adjustment of about 50% of the items in the game is needed for there to be any strategic depth imo. Without any strategy there is no metagame.
Sure items are a great issue too, thats why I mentioned them
And i agree that there is little to no metagame currently.
Imho the problem with items is that you
1. have no means of upgrading and
2. Items bring many stats but those with little numbers.
3. HP is the most valuable stat you can gain whichis also supporte by %heal of Prietst.
4. Potting and Healing is way too easy which also supports HP stacking.
In dota you can hardly gain large numbers of HP while not sacrificing other parts extremly.
In demigod you can't get any strong attack modifiers.
In Demigod you can hardly stack dmg in a way that you could out dmg anyone.
In Demigod running + healing is a way too strong tactic.
But I also see large problems with the Heroes.
Im would like to see a "no doubles" mode like every normal DotA mode.
For that we need much more heroes.
And I would like to see any counter picks.
E.g. 2v2 Sedna + Unclean Beast is overpowered. The only chance to counter that would be mana burn imho (other means are not suitable because of cd of heal and amount of hp of the heroes).
But the only mana burn items are 15% chance on hit for 100 Mana which means lousy 15 Mana "burn" which you rarely apply and 300 Mana "burn" from Warlords punnisher.
If there would be a hero with Mana burn + a way to kill priests quickly it would be a counter aganst sedna.
That would make it a risky choice to pick sedna. Now there is NO RISK at all. But it would be a risk if your enemie has no Sedna.
If you solve that by adding a priest killer item and a mana burn item you would make Sedna obsolet, which is bad.
So currently imbalanced are imo:
- Idols You get nothing for killing them.
- Idol slots. & saving gold for Citadel Upgrades.
Because Assasins can only spend gold on 5 - 8 cheap items while Generals can spend gold on 3 more cheap items (=idols).
The money you get after your inventory is full is almost every time better spent on citadel upgrades.
Large items like mageslayer are way to expensive to get and you are better off with just filling all slots.
- Priests (strongest HP/sec, little mana costs, hard to get rid off, burst heal)
- HP stacking
- Spit+ Ooze Build Unclean Beast
- Minion Build on Erebus
- Team support Sedna
There are no real counters for those "tactics".
With +6 Heroes those 3 Heroes would be probably picked less compared to the others.
AND there would be hopefully some counters against them.
Items could solve that too, but heroes better imho.
