So so confused...

He bought the german version and therefor cant use minor races. I bet that causes the crash for him too.

I got the same problem, sudden crashes, in the beginning of the game, thought there would be an update by now...loved the first game though, and this one looks very promising too...if only it didnt CRASH ALL THE TIME!

I think its kind of strange, that the Update bar on the game "GC2 Endless universe" - does not function, nothing happens, and as for the update, where is it! Ive been playing tons and tons of other games, but this here beats me. And as for the allmost immidiate crashes - IS THERE SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP!?

I know that this is an european version of an american ditto, but why does the game not function? It must be in the game, since i have updated my drivers and are able to play any other game, - without crashes. To whom and were should I adress my problem? So please, support if you are out there. Ths is a very polite signal from outer space.

If you don't want to wait for the patch you can always edit the registry to play EU with the english language files. That fixes any crashes related to minor races (which would be the main reason for ANY crashes as far as I know). I played two games (see metaverse character) with EU - one with 5 and one with maximum number of minor races without any crash. Before the language switch it was almost instant-crash. As for which key to edit: I think that's explained earlier in the thread. Hope that helps.

We've made progress, though due to some other issues it's hard to say if it'll be up before the weekend. Sorry for the continued delay, guys.

AFAIK, once EU is set up on Impulse, there should be no delay.  The delay here has been caused by unexpected problems that have arisen, but once these are resolved, we should be getting our generous portions of update-y goodness with the rest of the masses

BTW, you can create custom tech trees for custom races?  How?

How about telling your paying and increasingly unhappy EU customers what the status is, what's preventing you from making 2.0 available for said customers, and when approximately we can expect 2.0 to become available for us? Is "before the end of the year" a realistic estimate?
Or is the problem so huge that you can't even estimate when it's going to be resolved?

Last thing they said is that they are making progress and another issue popped up, so my guess is another 3 days, maybe less.

So when Did EU become a subscription? Neither Kalypso or Stardock are taking money out of MY bank account, and so they dont need to give me any services. Of course if they dont im unlikely to buy from stardock in the future but they havent got any obligation to give us the patch, or even make one in the first place. This has been hinted at time and time again by our helpful Stardock employees in nice ways in order to not insult their customers. But seen as though you cant get what they are subtly and modestly hinting at here it is:

GC2 Is being supported with patches because they want to make us happy with the game.

Of course the benefits from making us happy may include things like us buying other products but this is by no means a guarantee.

So please, next time you post do so in a considerate manner watching that you dont insult the very people who are trying to make a patch available for Me, The General EU public and 'You'.

Please have a look at the post that started this thread. It contains a clear commitment to making 2.0 available for EU within days - that was 3 weeks ago. Not a legal commitment, and there is no legal obligation to produce and release anything at all, I'm aware of this. But it motivated me to purchase EU, believe it or not. 
I can't see an insult in ASKING people for a status update. Or do you expect me to assume that people's words are not meant seriously? After all, they DID tell us that 2.0 would become available for EU customers within a few days, didn't they?
Please understand that I'm showing respect for them by asking. And I'm giving feedback to publishers and developers how I feel about their communication with me. 

In my business life, I'm an experienced project manager. I know that unforeseen things can and do happen. But I have also learnt, sometimes the hard way, to take communication and expectation management very serious. To tell people, day by day, things would happen "very soon" or so, creates expectations, and sooner or later, disappointment, if you don't fulfill. And to be silent makes people feel neglected and it makes them think about what might cause the silence. By telling people honestly, what's happening and what they can expect from you, you manage the process and minimize the risk that people feel neglected (one of the worst mistakes in human communications you can make, believe me).

My life doesn't depend on the availability of EU 2.0. But maybe my willingness to invest in Stardock products? I could have waited silently, maybe grudgingly, and drawn my conclusions ... But I preferred to tell Stardock what's on my mind. Not humbly and devotely enough in your eyes? Shame on me!
