An Observation of TG.NET so far

I have to admin I am a bit disappointed with TG.NET so far, while it is nice to have multiple games to choose from, finding out HOW to play any of the games downloaded is really a mess. If TG.NET wants to be sucessfull, there needs to be something to help users get started in these games. With that being said, I did finally figure out how to play GC (cool game) and now am trying to figure out Disciples II. And in this game I am lost, when it starts, which option do I choose first : Galleans Return or Rise of the Elves. When I start the game, choose tutorial nothing happens unless I create a new game first, then I choose tutorial and I still don't know what to do - it tells me to ready a party - not HOW to ready a party or WHY i want to ready a party.

Does anyone know of a decent tutorial or tutorial walkthrough to help beginning users start with this game.

The 'Tutorial' campain is included in the 'Multiplayer Scenerios' module in Stardock Central. It's on out list of things to fix, but for now downloading those scenerios will get you the necessary tutorial.

With Disciples, the general object of the game is to complete a series of scenarios. A party is your way to act within the game to complete those scenarios. So you need to create a party, which you do by going to your capital and clicking on the "Army" button (which looks like a little document to me, but what do I know; just hover over the buttons, you'll get a tooltip telling you what it does). In the Army screen, you click on the left-hand side to hire a new leader. Then click in an open spot on the right-hand side to hire a new party member, and drag him/her over into the leader's party area. (Most leaders start off with the capacity only to take 3 members, in spite of there being 5 slots. This can change as leaders gain experience.)
Once you have a party assembled, you send them out into the world, where they encounter enemy parties and try to beat the snot out of them while collecting valuable and useful items and moving toward the scenario's objective or goal.

I"ve only played through Gallean's Return so far myself. I have been enjoying it, though.

I have to say that I'm also pleased, and I've yet to personally have an issue with the service that Stardock has not quickly resolved. (That being said, I have a self-built computer with only quality components, thus removing most of the hardware issues that seem to plague those with "budget" PC's.)

I have a high end system that I just pruchased from Falcon NW about a month ago. I have a GF6800, and I have some massive graphical tweaks caused by Diciples II. It might be the graphics card though, because the tweaks stay around even after I leave the game. The whole screen will *fzzt* out (it blacks out and goes *FZZT*, really quite shocking, it makes me jump most of the time, heh) then come back. And then after I exit the game, I notice that the whole screen jitters and gets all fuzzy untill the screen randomly *FZZT*s again 1 or 2 times after exiting the game. I wish I could give you more info, but it is really really strange, heh.

Is it your monitor? When the monitor degausses it will sometimes go fzzt and make the screen seem to shake.

Dude, the monitor doesn't auto-degaus like 4 times a day. But yeah, I was thinking it could be my monitor, cause it's the only part of my system that I didn't replace, so it's like 5 or 6 years old.

Actually, the one I have here at work does it just about every time the hard drive spins. Freaking annoying. It was getting so bad I had to bring in my laptop and just use that.

Well, it never did that before I played any of StarDock's games, and that is speaking for the 5 years I've had it, so I'm assuming that that isn't it. It doesn't seem to do it anymore though, so maybe it fixed itself *crosses fingers*.
