Can I use Star Texture mods with the ST mod?

I start with no basic ship types, so when I go to build a colonizer in the shipyard, pick the colony hull then click use, game crashes. I can't seem to build any ships without crashing. Just clicking new takes me to the standard gal civ hulls. Anyone give me advice? I tried posting on their forums, but you need to be manually approved for forum access but nobody seems to be around to do it.

3) Yes, in Templates I see all the hulls. If I just click New instead I don't

I was wondering if this mod was still being worked on? I _REALLY_ want to play it, but the game keeps crashing on me with this mod installed.

I tried to register and post over at the official site (WWW Link) but you can't post unless you have an active account, and I've been waiting for ages but none of the administrators on that site have activated it.

A day after I posted the above quote, Han891 informed us from the official ST Mod forum of a third modder (OMEGA) being hired to assist in the stable mod overhaul. Han891 also included some other interesting updates...

That's great to hear that this fantastic mod is still being worked on, I had packed this game up and had gone back to playing Birth of the Federation, but now that there's this mod, I'm back to playing Galactic Civ - with this mod installed of course.

Thanks for registering me on your site, and don't worry about it, especially if you're ignoring your forum admin duties to work on the mod.

So your vast intelligence can 't find a problem with my post on how this mod is a scam and you point out a problem with a hypothetical situation. I was using that situation in an attempt to communicate on a level I thought you might understand. And I am a trekie. I pointed out the issues I have with this mod. All you say is you love this mod. That's it? That's your posiiton? ...Ok.... what about it do you love? Let's have an intelligent conversation. How did I pump up my machine anyway? For about $700 I got a dual processor computer, 3gigs of RAM and a now average graphics card that can currently play every game on the market, and the ones comming out, at max settings. How is this boosting my machine? If all this is average, great! It would totally suck if my computer was the best on the planet. I would probably feel guilty and give it away to charity.

I for one would like to know why there are not as many moders working on it as there used to be? Is it because they know it totaly sucks, are they on vacation, did someone get hit with a brick fired from a potatoe cannon that was riged on a tank? Or perhaps I am mistaken? When I downloaded this mod I was estatic, I love Star Trek. But the people who made this mod decided to destroy their own reputation and ruin a perfectly good sci-fi universe idea for the game. I don't know of any other mod that makes everything crash like it's running on imagination. Windows 95 never crashed like this thing. I have never had another conversion mod cause so much trouble, actually any trouble. This mod makes Master of Orion III look like an ant that can play a life size piano, trumpet, and drums at the same time for 30 years nonstop and still be alive for 100 years afterwards signing pictures while being ant size the whole time. (I feel I have to spell everything out so you can understand since you enjoy taking things out of context like a .... let's not go there.)

Not a MOD.

I used the word "Drag" becuase this mod pretends to be a working computer program. It is actually a virus, unless the "modders" wanted to fool everyone into thinking it is a virus and have a good laugh becuase it's actually a working computer program. If this seems like nonsense crap to you then congratulations; you are a new species that has been encountered which has no depth to your mind and you can not think abstractly.(Another one of those "spell out" moments.)

But I probably should be glad that these "modders" didn't have anything to do with making the GalCiv2 powerhouse becuase these forums wouldn't exist since everyone would consider it a joke and little girls who just learned how to use a computer would come to whatever web page it was to laugh at it late at night during one of their slumber parties.

I should have posted this instead since you might be able to grasp this argument....


I love Star Trek.   I was very happy when I saw this mod.   I was very sad when I found out it was broken and the only thing working was the models.  If it worked I would be glad.  

I couldn't get any pictures and sounds that go with them when you click on them so I hope you can understand the yellow faces. Now it's time for your nap. After you wake up you can play with your chew toy.

I'm new to modding, and have a few questions about the mod.

It seems that each game that I've started gets about half way through and then crashes each time an animated battle starts. Let me explain further, when the game should go to the movie of the battle the game crashes, however it seems that this evolves only certain hulls. I've gone through the time to start a new game and view the hulls under the "new" tab and found some races that seems to violate the "tiny, small, cargo" norm. The Andorian, Klingon, Federation, Dominion (they don't have any). If I open the template tabs to view the hulls, I can see all hulls belonging to the race, if any template, even those that should be currently usable, is clicked that game crashes.

Once and only once the game went into animation of a battle, i was the romulain, and attacked borg transports, apparently they were armed so this tripped the battle sequence. This played out just fine. But, latter on when I came into contact with the Borg frigate, a small flat disk, the game crashed.

I am enjoying the tech tree changes and would like to get to a game completetion. What am I doing wrong?
