The Overmind has been dead for a while...

If my math is correct, tagging my points in is just enough to tip the balance back to being the #1 empire during the next point retotal. But only by a very marginal number of points.

Suicidal is not as bad as it sounds. If you are hammering the computer at obscene, and it looks like you are, you can make the jump. The first game or two is rough, but it smooths out.

My next game up will be a gigantic. I think I've figured out enough ways to save time on game management on my huge maps that I can probably swing it without going nuts. We'll see how long it takes me...Hopefully, it's not a bridge to far!

Welcome Purge. I have been playing around with DA. All the special planets with a custome race takes some getting used to. The AI with their inate ability to colonize them rush in and take them before I have the tech researched. Need to reanalyze my initial abilities, or play the Yor and not worry about it with their super abilities.

I don't doubt it. Although, I don't know if I would bother with gigantic if I could get 237K in a 5 year huge suicidal. Pretty impressive. You must have some good advice to share.

Thanks for the ego boost! So far as I can tell, that is the second highest huge game posted. Magnumaniac has me beat with a 8 year 259K game.

Your doing pretty good yourself there. A nice trajectory on jumping up the score on each consecutive game.

I have figured out a few things to maximize the score. I'll post some stuff up in the Core once I get a chance.

Even better, every now and then you get a Eureka! moment. I've had two previous ones and both jumped up my points and game play, I had a third recently that I haven't had a chance to apply. Curious to see if it works and how many points it will be worth.

I've read though a chunk of the stuff over at the core and while I am using a lot of the same tools out of the toolkit, my strategic approach is a bit different on some things...I think I might know a trick or two that can be used to boost everyones scores. Codifying it might be difficult as it does kind of work as a cohesive whole. I'm thinking it might be worth going through a game and logging critical decisions/tricks and why I'm making them. That way others can pick and choose out what might be useful for their style of play.

Well, Mag *is* simply the best, he's really in a different league entirely. But his was with 1.31 while the stock market still had a morale bonus. Not sure exactly how v1.4 correlates, but I have to assume it would cause scores to be slightly lower.

Yes, cohesiveness is a very important, and often the most difficult, part of a strategy.
