In Beta 3 one of the planet clusters around a sun had no sun, just a blank space in the middle. Maybe the new color coding of the starts includes a "black" start

WarEagle reported the same in chat this morning. It was meant to be a yellow star, but it wasn't shown properly.

and I got more than 850 habitable planets!


I hope you've got some serious hardware

Lets see, if you are playing with no tech trading, then the Drengin will get 85-90 planets as an average, and not be able to do anything but build ships (seeing as they won't have anything except military tech). Say one ship every 3-5 weeks per planet on average (maybe faster on Suicidal with their production bonuses). So thats at least 10 ships per planet per year, times by 85.. by the end of year 2 they're going to have well over a thousand ships to control each turn. Will continue to grow until their economy bottoms out, at which point they won't be able to build anything and will be stuck with lots of outdated ships to move around every week.

Could be a long game.

I finished a game with latest beta and the biggest problem that I had was random CTDs. Hopefully they can get these ironed out.

Howdy Diplomats.

Just finished my 4th game, using Beta3, Large, abundant everything, fast research, custom race, challenging.

Time to step up the difficulty, cuture win in 3 years was too easy.

Hope to have game 5 done by Sunday.

Edit: Curious, my medals aren't showing up, any ideas?

Just saying "hello". I joined this empire earlier today. Looking forward to the discussions about how to diplomatically and politely take over the universe using tact, persuasion and the biggest dreadnaughts with the deadliest beams, missles and guns ever seen.

Indeed it is a very cool game.

I'm also please to see that you have embraced the 'diplomatic' methods we prefer to use when dealing with alien races.

I was noticing that the Diplomats now have 4 of the top 10 rated players and the empire is rated 2nd. I have an idea that the change in scoring is going to make some big changes.

By the way, what is the plural of "DaMoose"? "DaMeese" or "DaMeeses"?

Not as much as the new AI tweaks - this game just got a lot more intense with beta 4. The Torians have just become the most annoying AI.

Well, itI would be better if I have the complete correct formula

How do you see it effecting game play?

Well, I don't really know as I haven't yet any idea about the best trade off between submitting lots of small scoring game and submitting few high scoring game.

I think lots of tests are needed, especially given the fact that habitability and planets have a huge impact on the empire population growth per turn

I am sure that there is going to be a lot of ongoing changes with the scoring. No one will be happy with the low socres that they are going to be getting.
